Bruce Akins is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Bruce joined Pomeroy Appraisal in March of 2010.
Prior to joining CNY Pomeroy Appraisers, Bruce was employed as controller of Johnston RV Country in Webster, New York. Prior to this he was an owner/partner in Bob James Equipment, a multi-location John Deere dealership in the Rochester area for fifteen years. He has been involved in real estate as a sales agent at Dixon-Carr Realty from 2002 until 2004. He also served on the Town of Williamson Zoning Board of Appeals from 1995 through 2015.
Bruce’s accounting experience provides the basis for the financial analysis required for the appraisal of many complex property and report types. His experience includes assignments dealing with agricultural, forest, recreational use, and residential land; as well as commercial properties including warehouses, office buildings, apartment buildings, industrial buildings, medical office space, and retail properties. His experience includes assignments for banking purposes, assessment review, eminent domain, conservation easements, estate planning, and minority interest valuations.
Bruce is currently working toward the requirements for designation by the Appraisal Institute.
