Matthew D. Oja, Esq., has been an associate appraiser with CNY Pomeroy Appraisers since 2014. His real estate experience includes both commercial and residential valuation, land use and zoning review, commercial leasing, and real estate transactions. He is pursuing a New York State general real estate appraiser certification and has completed courses including RE5 Basic Appraisal Principles and Supervisory Appraiser/Trainee Appraiser.

Matt is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Onondaga County Bar Association. He has served on a number of non-profit boards of directors and resides in Syracuse. He is a graduate of Colgate University and the Syracuse University College of Law.

Areas of expertise include eminent domain, tax certiorari and zoning.
Appraisal experience includes several types of real property, including commercial development sites, institutional properties, mixed-use development, office buildings, recreational land, retail properties, and warehouses.

ACTIVITIES & AFFILIATIONS, PAST & PRESENT:

Matt is currently president of the board of directors of the Thomden Park Association and has served on and worked with a number of local boards and pro bono organizations, including Tomorrow’s Neighborhoods Today, the Syracuse Chargers Track Club, and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families. He is a member of the New York State and Onondaga County bar associations.
